I am 35 weeks pregnant!

Between the weather and my growing belly, I’ve been taking it easy when it comes to photo jobs.  I am enjoying my “maternity leave,” but I will be anxious to start shooting again!  But while I’m on a little hiatus, I thought I would just share a little about our baby.  Yes folks, you read the title right, I am already 35 weeks pregnant! Can you believe it?  The baby is due in 5 weeks!!  Matthew and I couldn’t be more excited to meet our newest addition.  And I’m sure Seth would be excited too, if he knew what was going on.  But being only 14 months old, his only comprehension is that my belly means “baby” – but he really doesn’t know what he’s saying.  It’s quite cute to see him pat my belly and say “BABY!” but it won’t be cute once the baby is born and he’s still doing that to my belly.  I have a feeling I’m going to regret teaching him that little trick 🙂  But in the meantime, we’re enjoying a good laugh about it.

We still don’t know the gender of the baby, which is quite frustrating at times!! Many people ask, “How do you do that? I would have to know!”  Yes, it’s tough and I really really really want to know what he/she is, but now that we’ve gone this far, I think I can handle 5 more weeks.  Besides, I am VERY excited for that moment in the delivery room when the baby is born and the doctor shouts “It’s a ……!”  What a cool moment that will be!  I really don’t have an inkling one way or the other, but many people have told me they think it’s a girl and all my dreams have been that it’s a girl.  So with all that being said, I think it’s a boy 🙂  We will be excited either way.  All I know is that this is a very ACTIVE child.  As I type this, I think the baby invited his/her friends over for a party and they are celebrating a snow day outside.  That’s the only explanation for the amount of kicks and pokes I’m feeling at once!  There’s no way there’s just 4 limbs in there. 🙂  I wonder if that’s a sign of things to come?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any “belly” pictures to share – how sad is that?  You can tell this is a second pregnancy.  With Seth, I was having Matthew snap my profile almost every other week to track the growing belly.  This one, I don’t even know if a picture exists of my enormous size.  But hopefully we’ll be having some maternity pictures taken soon (if the weather holds up!) and I’ll share those.

So hopefully I’ll be celebrating my birthday in the hospital! (Yes, my due date is also my birthday – how fun is that?) I can’t wait to introduce you all to our newest little peanut!!
