Ellie’s first photo shoot

So I’ve been a little MIA lately, but for good reason.  I’ve been busy keeping my head above water (water meaning 4 kids ages 5 and under).  I have spent the last month wiping booties, wiping noses, addressing tears, living on little sleep, hunkering down through a polar vortex and the like.  It’s been an overwhelming month, but one that I would not give up for the world.  I am so thankful that I’m getting ample time off with my family and learning to adjust to our new normal as a family of six.  I am already starting to get the itch to pick up my camera again and start shooting, but in the meantime, I’m enjoying my time at home and my time away from the computer and all the editing that goes with the shooting!!

But of course, I can’t be at home with a beautiful newborn and not snap a few pics, right?  The woes of being a photog means that I don’t have photos of little Ellie Ryann with me, but that’s ok – I have plenty of Instagram selfies to make up for where I’m lacking! (For those of you who follow me, now you know why I take those selfies with her – I’m compensating :)).  I took these photos back when she was just a week or so old, and now she’s 6 weeks old! Where does the time go??  I should totally be used to the rate that they grow up considering I’ve watched 3 kids before her do the same, but I thought this time God really knew I meant it when I wanted to freeze time with her.  I guess He had other plans….

It was all we could do to get Luke to sit here and not scream and cry (he only likes pictures on HIS terms), so looking away is the best we can do for now!
