KELLY + ANDY {married!}

I met Kelly more than 7 years ago when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed.  And then over the years, I have continued to run into her at many other weddings I photographed.  I seemed to be on a friend-of-Kelly-wedding-circuit for a while.  And now it’s Kelly’s turn to have her big day!!  I have to say, being a part of this wedding was spectacular.  The place was a packed house, which showed just how loved this couple was. And many of those former-LRP couples were even in attendance!! What a fun little reunion we had 🙂  Andy and Kelly are adorable together, and she was just beaming all day.  The catch phrase for their wedding was “Best Day Ever” and I have to say it just was.

The forecast called for 100% chance of rain all day, so I contacted Kelly early in the week to suggest we make the most of the rain by including rain boots and umbrellas, and she was all over that.  I was incredibly impressed at how her bridesmaids pulled together and all brought their rainy day gear.  The day of the wedding was a rainy, gloomy one, but we lucked out in having some breaks in the day where we could slip outside for pictures.  I could not get over Kelly’s attitude about the weather all day – not once did I ever see her get upset that it was rainy, or even complain that it wasn’t perfect.  She was all smiles and completely rolled with it.  Even when I was about to start Kelly & Andy’s portraits, the skies opened up and not only did it pour, it was incredibly windy.   They just laughed it off and allowed me to drag them all of the venue to find the most light I could find indoors for their portraits, even if it meant climbing 3 flights of stairs.  I could not have asked for a more gracious couple on this gloomy day!!

What a fantastic day this was and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it.  Kelly and Andy, I am over-the-moon that you found each other and wish you many years of love and happiness!! Big thanks to Emily Price for rockin’ this wedding with me!!!

Seriously, could this girls be any cuter?  Take note, future brides: if it’s going to rain on your wedding day, use it to your advantage and have fun with it!!

Kelly’s brother passed away years ago.  In his memory, this orange rose was placed at the alter.  What a loving reminder.
