BRIAN + MARY {married!!}

I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph this wedding for a multitude of reasons, the main one being the couple.  I know Brian and Mary from church – we’ve been in the same Sunday School class this past year.  And I already knew how beautiful Mary was because, well, I do have eyes.  But WOW! Was she gorgeous this day!  Her dress was perfection on her.  Add a handsome groom, and we have a winning combination.  Another reason is they were having the wedding and reception on SBTS’s campus, in Alumni Chapel.  Umm, yes please.  Ever since the first day I stepped onto campus and into Alumni Chapel, I remember thinking “I would love to shoot a wedding here!”  Lo and behold, that day finally came!!  And ironically, it finally happened after Matthew graduated and we are moving on.  It was a great farewell to the campus in my book!  Walking around with the couple, taking in the sights of this beautiful place that had been home for 3 years – it was a wonderful moment.  Oh, and they were getting married, so yeah, that too 🙂 And this was a perfect farewell to SBTS for the couple as well, who are headed off to Scotland soon so he can finish his PhD, which started at SBTS.  Just all in all a perfect day.

The ceremony was so rich with the gospel, singing hymns and rejoicing in God’s glory.  It was an honor to be a part of this wedding, seeing these two become one. The reception was simple and sweet, complete with a coffee bar and cupcakes.  What a joyous occasion this was to be a part of.

Brian and Mary, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in your wonderful wedding!!  I could shoot it again and again and it would never get old!!!

{Side note: Mary got dressed in the green room in the chapel.  I could not help but stand in awe of this room, knowing the great theological minds that have come to SBTS to preach that have sat in this room, probably praying and preparing their sermons. What a cool moment that was for me to realize that.}Composite_011Composite_013Composite_014Composite_016Composite_017Composite_019

Mary’s dad is a decorated Army Colonel.  What an honor to be in his presence.

Mary’s dad has a thing about finding four-leaf clovers.  He wasn’t outside 5 minutes and came back with one in hand to give to his daughter.  I could look all day and not find one, and here he finds one to give his daughter instantly.
