LINDY + CHRIS | WEDDING

Ok, where do I start with this wedding?  I think I’m going to start at the beginning….So Lindy, the bride, is part of the larger Jones family.  I’ve shot many weddings and portrait shoots for the Jones clan (do a quick search for any of them and I’m sure you’ll find multiple).  As I’ve mentioned before, the Jones family is our longest running friends.  I’ve known this family since, well, the very beginning.  I don’t remember a time without them in my life.  While our close ties to the family has mostly been with one segment of them (the Tim Jones part), we’ve been friends with all of them through this connection.  Bud & Marilyn, the patriarchs, started it all, and all along, they’ve been like a 3rd set of grandparents to my siblings and I.  So, by default, all the Jones cousins felt like a 2nd set of cousins to us.  Their home, this property, all felt like a 2nd home to us.  It’s comfortable.  It’s good.  And of course, as time has gone on, we’ve lost touch with many of the Jones’ cousins because well…life.  But yet, seeing them all again at Lindy’s wedding brought back so many great, warm memories.  And it was pure joy.

So, now, the wedding.  Lindy & Chris live out in Colorado, but decided to have their down-home wedding, well, at home.  It was a sweet, backyard wedding at Granny’s that was beautiful, heart-warming, and quaint.  From jeans to cornhole, a bouncy house and milk and cookies, it was one of the simplest, most-kid friendly, sweetest weddings I have ever shot.  I just love these laid back weddings, and to spend it in a place that feels like home to me with people I love dearly, it was just a great day.  Lindy and Chris were so kind and so sweet and so loving with one another.  Their wedding party was beautiful and the colors were spot on. And to top it off, we had one of the most beautiful September days, which was amazing considering everything was outside!

Thank you, Lindy & Chris, for allowing me to be a part of your day! P.S. I could shoot this wedding over and over again and be completely happy…. 🙂

There is so much history in Bud & Marilyn’s house…so many memories….

No, a groomsman did not sneak into the bride’s pictures…She had a bridesman  on her side (also, the husband of one of the bridesmaids).  I love how unconventional Lindy is!composite_028composite_029composite_030

See that barn behind them?  A big part of Bud Jones & Sons, her grandfather’s company that is being carried on by her uncles. I don’t normally put lawn equipment in wedding photos, but this was a must in my book. 🙂

The couple had dirt brought in by friends and family from all the places they live.  They will take that dirt back to Colorado and use it to plant a tree.  Isn’t that a cool idea?composite_039composite_040composite_041composite_042composite_043composite_044composite_045composite_046composite_047composite_048composite_049composite_050composite_051composite_052composite_053composite_054composite_055composite_056composite_057composite_058

All the Jones’ cousins (Minus Paul – we left you a space, Paul!).  And Lindy is the last cousin to get married – that is one large family!! composite_059composite_060composite_061composite_062composite_063composite_064composite_065composite_066

Isn’t that barn just awesome?

Lindy even has a lawnmower on her foot, in honor of her grandfather. composite_070composite_071composite_072composite_073

The reception was at the Lakeside Lodge at Sharon Woods.
