Emma won’t be one until the 18th, but due to scheduling conflicts (mainly family who will be out of town!), we had her party last night. Yeah, I’ve been thinking about this party for months now, so I was pretty excited to be hosting it! The theme: Vintage Poppy. I got the idea because I first found poppy cupcake toppers on Etsy (TwoSugarBabies) and the rest just fell into place!
We had cake pops, custom made lollipops (AmysSweetDream), purple/gray swirly straws (The Party Fairy), and pinwheel party favors (ElizabethSt)…..
…Hershey kisses, handmade fabric poppies for all the ladies (made by me! Yes, I can get crafty :))….
….Delicious cupcakes made by my sister-in-law…
…Glass bottled soda and popcorn in vintage boxes (to counteract all that sugar!!)
“Here, Daddy, have some!”
Being a photographer, you would think I would have taken lots of pictures (and I wish I had), but I have a really hard time balancing being a host and a photographer. So basically, all I got was all the details (before everyone arrived) and the birthday girl eating her cake. I thought about picking up my camera throughout the night, but felt my time was better spent hanging out with friends. The photographer in me is disgusted by the lack of pictures, but the host/mom in me is thankful I had a night to enjoy with family and friends!
Happy (almost) Birthday, Emma Jo!!
