So I have approximately 5 weeks (give or take a week) until baby boy makes his arrival! And so I got to thinking – I have A LOT to do before he gets here! I had already planned on not doing much shooting for the month of July, seeing as I’ll be 8 months pregnant in 90 degree weather, but looking at my current to-do list and upcoming shooting schedule, I’ve decided to not take on any more shoots. This does not mean I’m not working right now. I currently have a wedding and couple portrait shoots on my editing list, as well as shooting and editing an upcoming wedding and previously scheduled shoots. And I haven’t even mentioned the albums I have to design, the house that needs packed (and sold for that matter), and the move to Louisville that needs to happen in the next couple of weeks. Oh, and I already have 2 beautiful children that desire their mother’s attention – I don’t want to miss this last month of enjoying being just a family of four before we become a family of five!
So, with my short {sigh} to-do list for the next five weeks, I have decided the best decision for my family, my clients, and me, is to not take on any more shoots until after the baby is here. So, if this affects you – meaning, you were hoping to get a family portrait done this summer or something like it – here’s what you can do: If it can wait till the fall (September and beyond), I’d be happy to do your pictures and still desire your business!! If you are needing a more immediate shoot, I’d be happy to point you in the direction of some great photographers in the area who can help you out. If you just HAVE to have me shoot your pictures and need them done now, you can buy our house, and I will shoot your pictures any time, even while in labor if need be! And I’ll do your shoot for free! 🙂
Thank you so much for your support, your business, and your understanding in the crazy season of life! I will very much look forward to getting back into the swing of things after the baby is born. I will be posting plenty of work in the next couple of weeks, and details of our move, new baby boy, etc, so this blog will still be active during the maternity leave. So check back often!
