This was truly an exceptional wedding. I’ve never seen anything like it. I got a call from the groom the morning of to learn that their reception was currently without power from the storms the night before, and they weren’t sure if they were going to have one. When Erin and I show up to the hotel (a different one than originally planned because of power outages), we find the parents of the bride and the bridesmaids on cell phones, making calls to various venues around the city trying to plan a reception THE DAY OF. You could definitely see the stress on everyone’s faces (VERY understandable), but everyone maintained their cool. Especially the bride, who was mostly kept in the dark as the status of the reception, but even when she found out that there was no reception, she remained calm and didn’t even cry. I would have been a wreck. I mean, Samantha was a DREAM bride to handle a situation like this. But before we left the hotel for pictures, the whole crew had managed to find a new venue, new caterer, and get everything (flowers, DJ, bar, etc) switched to the new location! I could not believe it. It was simply amazing.
The day was stifling hot, and being 9 months pregnant, made the heat that much more noticeable. Thankfully, no baby was born on their wedding day! Due to the craziness of the morning, we were left with a quarter of the time we were supposed to have for pictures, but I think everyone was thankful for that because that meant less time in the heat. Brice and Samantha were great to work with and had a great wedding party, so we were able to get a lot in a short time. Perfect.
So what started out as a crazy day, ended up being a beautiful wedding and reception, and at the end of the day, Brice and Samantha became Mr. & Mrs! The most important part 🙂 I hope you enjoy the photos!
HUGE thanks to Erin Dial for your amazing talent and for keeping an eye on me to make sure I didn’t pass out and for being ready to take over in case baby Robbins decided to make an early appearance 🙂 And considering this whole wedding was in Columbus, that second part was extra important!
