Another fun repeat family wedding!! I met Buddy & Lauren a couple years ago when Lauren’s brother, Joe, had me photograph his gorgeous St. Thomas wedding. When I do a destination wedding, I get to know the family and friends who are a part of the wedding really well because we basically get to vacation with them! It was such a joy to get to know the Laugherty family then and had a blast with them. So of course when I got the call from Lauren about photographing her Cincinnati wedding after her engagement, I was stoked my schedule was clear for her big day! OF COURSE I will photograph your wedding! The travel for this Laugherty wedding was a little less extensive, seeing as it was in Cincinnati 🙂 Buddy & Lauren’s ceremony and reception were split by the afternoon, which allowed for ample time for pictures and even a little relaxing before the party began. The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s in Hyde Park and the reception was at the Taft Museum, both first time locations for me. I’m in love with shooting at the Taft – I’d be happy to do another wedding there (hint hint, future brides). We even had time to spend a few (hot) minutes on Millionaire’s Row in Covington to get a view of the Cincinnati skyline. As with every June wedding, we were battling the sun and heat, but that didn’t stop Lauren and Buddy from showing me just how in love they are!
Also of note with this gorgeous wedding, Lauren thought of every detail. And I mean every detail. Down to the napkins at her breakfast with the bridesmaids, everything screamed wedding day. It was so special and sweet, and to a detail nut like me, I was in heaven. Even one of her friends got her a custom card for her wedding (see ring pics) that I couldn’t help but shoot! Everything went seamlessly together and it was just a beautiful day to be a part of!!
Congrats, Buddy & Lauren! Your heart and soul went into this big day and it totally paid off. Much love and blessings to you on your new life together!
