This is an emotional post for me to write. I mean, I AM pregnant and so maybe a little (ahem, ok a lot) hormonal right now, so I do get some wiggle room for tears, right? Right? Plus, this is a blog post, so you’ll never know if I got emotional or not, so ha! Ok, so why emotional? We became friends with the Walters soon after we moved to Louisville and instantly clicked. From quoting movies, to slightly inappropriate jokes, to sarcasm and dry humor, we were all a perfect match. The Walters were in the small group that we were so blessed to become a part of, thus starting our lifelong friendship (even if we’re only coming up on a year of knowing each other!). We were in a place in our lives that really needed good friends quickly (we left so many great people behind in Cincinnati that we missed – and still miss – dearly!), and our small group filled that role. Their youngest son, Levi, is Seth’s age, and Seth instantly became good buds with Levi, whether Levi wanted it or not. When we moved to Louisville, Seth was sad to leave his friends and we told him that he’d make new friends. Levi became that good buddy for him and we are so thankful for that. Today, Matthew went over to the Walters’ home to help load a moving truck, which is taking them away to the far off land of Vermont. The Lord has graciously supplied a pastor job for BJ, and we are so thankful for their willingness to go and serve the kingdom of God, even if it means they have to leave us and all their other great friends. Selfishly, of course, I know many people don’t want them to go, but we gladly release our selfish desires for a calling that is bigger than any of us. BJ and Christin are going to do such great things and we are excited for what’s ahead! That being said, I’m super thankful for Facebook so we can continually stalk them and know what they are up to, even if we can’t be in the same town.
So anywho, on to the pictures. I was so excited that they allowed me to do a photo shoot with their beautiful family amidst the packing and moving shenanigans. It not only gave me a little extra time with them to say goodbye, but hopefully a nice little token to take with them and remind them of their time in Louisville. We were racing the weather with the shoot, with a storm rolling in as we were shooting, but despite the thunder and the extreme humidity, we all survived 🙂
I am very thankful for this family and excited for the Lord’s plan in their lives!! Vermont is sooo lucky!
I LOVE these! I’m so glad they got photographed by you before they left town!
