THE PEEK {family}

It was a rare treat to get to photograph this beautiful family.  Chris and Sarah are missionaries from our church here in Louisville.  We knew them the first year we were here, then they left to go overseas with their two kids.  They’ve been gone a couple years, but came back this summer to welcome baby Emily into their family.   And those kids.  Ugh.  I could just eat Norah up.  And now she has a baby sister that looks just like her – there’s double the cuteness!!  And Jonathan has grown up into such a young man.  I count it an honor to get to photograph them while they are in town. So we did a pseudo-newborn shoot combined with a full family shoot.  It was quite fun doing the newborn stuff outdoors – kept Emily zonked out so much better!  Going to have to do this more often 🙂

P.S. The Peeks will always hold a special place in my heart.  I’m not sure they know this, but they were the first ones to invite us into their home when we first moved here.  It was a simple gesture that meant the world to us newbies as we were scared and just eager to make friends.  It brought us great comfort and encouragement to know that we CAN make new friends here and that just maybe we will be alright.  So, Chris and Sarah, thank you.
