Words cannot express how I feel about this precious family. Brad & Kara were with us at the beginning of seminary, both of us struggling to figure out this new place (world is more like it). Both struggling to find out what “Southern Baptist” really means, and both learning to adapt to our husbands being in school. We entered seminary at the same time, and Matthew and Brad did a Pastoral internship at our church at the same time. So really, they were our seminary twins. We love them dearly. Brad graduates this December, and I was honored they wanted me to do a family session of their crew at the seminary, to mark their time there. With me living in Cincinnati now, I, of course, wanted to make this work, but was nervous we wouldn’t find the time. Lo and behold, a night came where I could do it, and wouldn’t you know it would rain? All day. Lots of it. But the Lord was kind to us, because as we met up, the rains began to cease, and we had a clear evening to work with. Granted, everything was wet, but we weren’t about to complain. And miracle among miracles, all 5, yes ALL FIVE kids gave me smiles most of the night. I could not believe it – not because they aren’t good or joyful kids, but any parent of multiple kids knows how hard it is to get all your kids smiling and behaving at the same time.
I cannot wait to see what comes next for this crew!! My hope and prayer that they end up ministering in Cincinnati, because of course, I know what the Lord’s will is for them 😉 (I kid, I kid).
Aren’t they just the prettiest??
Kara is just as beautiful on the inside as she is outside. Maybe a bit cliche, but it’s true.
Look at Graham 🙂 I love that his shirt is wet.
Seriously, some church is going to be so blessed very soon to have these two…
It wouldn’t be a commemorative photo shoot on campus without a picture inside the hallowed halls of Southern Seminary.
These boys…
Aaand….that’s more like it…
