I seriously don’t even know what to write for this blog post, or better yet, what pictures – they are all my favorite! Emily & Derrick got married the weekend of Thanksgiving at Cooper’s Creek in Blue Ash and were the perfect couple to end my year on. It was such a blessed, joyful event, that you just couldn’t help but smile while watching them. Even their first look was magical. I could have stopped all their portraits after that and felt I had enough of them two of them from that day. This wedding was almost impossible to edit, there was so much good material!! Emily is one of those brides that radiates joy, and Derrick is madly in love with her. And vice versa. We had so much fun with the two of them, I honestly had trouble stopping. We even had a gorgeous sunny November day, which is very rare this time of year. All the little details were just beautiful and simple, that reflected grace and elegance, much like the two of them. Emily and I kept discussing all day the beauty in imperfection and felt that much of their day had slight imperfections that made it, well, perfect. Imperfections like the wind blowing, the hair and veil out of place, allowing the moment to matter over the details, etc. I am so honored they chose me as their photographer and really can’t wait for them to start having babies that I can photograph 🙂
Many thanks to the extremely talented Erin Dial for rocking this wedding with me!!
Merry Christmas, everyone!!
Emily’s matron of honor was a good friend of mine (and former bride), so it’s always a treat getting to see familiar faces.
It’s not possible to take a bad photo of her.
This first look was priceless. If you are on the fence on if you should do it or not, I dare you to see this series of images and argue that it takes away the specialness of the moment. (Also, see his reaction when she DOES come down the aisle – I don’t think the moment was lost on him because he saw her beforehand.) Just sayin’.
The wind was very much my friend that day (but not Emily’s – it was cold).
With a cold November day, the bridesmaids were thankful for good lighting indoors.
I just love the little touches of lace in her dress. Perfectly imperfect.
So. Much. Joy.
God bless ’em for letting me steal them away for more pictures. Seriously, coulda done this all day.
Vendor List coming soon!!
