ASHLEY + DANNY | Married!

So when your childhood friend (I’m talking like 30ish years ago childhood) contacts you and says “Hey, will you be my photographer?” the obvious answer is a big fat YES.  I have not seen Ashley in probably 26-27 years (yikes, am I that old??), so I was super excited to show up on her wedding day to reunite.  She looked exactly the same, and I remember her laugh like it was yesterday.  Wasn’t it just yesterday we were riding our bikes to each others’ houses, playing with her cats and dogs and swimming in our pool?  Man, how time flies.  Anyways, I got to see Ashley and her whole fam again, and meet this awesome man that is now her husband.  During the ceremony and toasts, it was mentioned that Danny smiles with his whole face.  Man, could that not be more true!! His smile just lights up the place.  And they are so in love – it was so obvious by the day.  And there ceremony was such a sweet tribute to the two of them, a perfect way for those who don’t know them very well to get to know them.  And her dress.  Can was just talk about her dress?  So unique and beautiful!! And the other unique aspect of this wedding was that Danny’s best man was a woman, and two of Ashley’s bridsmaids were bridesmen (her brothers).  What a unique wedding party! I love it when couples do things unexpected like that.

I was only with them for a few hours, but that was enough to really capture the essence of the day.  Thanks, old friend, for reaching out and letting me be your photographer!! I truly enjoyed it!

Ashley and Danny had people fly in from all over the country (and world) to be at their wedding.  They both have lived in NYC and LA, and chose to get married in Cincinnati, Ashley’s hometown and their current residence.  They were married on May 13, so the theme of their wedding was 513 (wedding date) in the 513 (Cincinnati’s area code).  Super clever 🙂
