the ashbrook family {D.C. session}

This past weekend was spent in Washington, D.C. with the Ashbrook family.  Some clients of mine flew me there for their engagement session (coming soon!), so I stayed with my good friends and got to hang out with their beautiful baby girls.  They were so gracious to let me stay with them, I thought it only appropriate we do a little family session as well!  John works at the Capitol, so I took a few photos outside, got a little behind the scenes tour inside the building, and saw where he worked.  It was an amazing day!  Then, after the girls got some naps in the afternoon back at home, Kate and I took them outside in the backyard for a few more casual shots.

Now you may be wondering why I have posted so many family shots here – normally I don’t put this many up.  But seeing as thought both Kate and John are from Cincinnati, all their family is out of town (Cincinnati and other places around the world, actually).  And Margaret and Abigail are very dearly loved – they have LOTS of aunts and uncles – so I thought the families would appreciate seeing lots of photos.  Of course, it’s not all of them, but hopefully it’s enough for them to be satisfied! This is just one amazing family.  They are a living testimony to what it looks like to trust in the Lord with everything.  Sweet little Abigail, only three months old, has already undergone major heart surgery and pulled through like a champ.  They will have trials ahead, but I am thankful for a Sovereign God who has gifted this family with such a platform to share His love and grace.  Thank you, Kate and John, for being who you are and standing firm in the faith that the Lord has entrusted to you!! What pure joy it was spending the weekend with you guys!
