Yes, you read that right – a BERMUDA wedding!! I was stoked when Tim and Sam approached me about shooting their wedding, and even more so when I found out they wanted a destination wedding!! I’ve known Tim for a very long time – his dad is the pastor at my home church in Cincinnati. Wayne (Tim’s dad) is from Bermuda, so it was fitting the couple had the wedding there. Most of the extended family still lives on the island, so it was extremely convenient for them! The island of Bermuda is spectacular – the clearest water I have ever seen! Everywhere you look, there are blue skies, blue water, white sandy beaches, gorgeous colorful homes, and palm trees. It doesn’t get much better!
So Matthew and I got to both go to have a little work/vacation trip . I met Sam for the first time on the island, and what a sweetheart she is! Tim is a very lucky guy! She has a beautiful daughter the same age as Seth, and let’s just say Tim is going to have his hands full with her. She reminded me a lot of Emma in just that eat-your-heart-out kind of cute, a total princess. The wedding took place at Tom Moore’s Tavern, a restaurant that had an outdoor area for the ceremony overlooking a little harbor, and a covered patio for the reception. We were able to hit up a few different locations for pictures, although our time outside the car was done very quickly – it was EXTREMELY hot. That Bermuda sun is not forgiving at all.
After the ceremony, we loaded up the wedding party and went to the Crystal Caves, a gorgeous park area with beautiful palm trees. The guys eventually changed into traditional Bermuda attire: Bermuda shorts. Yes, this is a cultural look! And I’m sure they appreciated a little extra ventilation after wearing pants all day.
We were very fortunate with gorgeous weather and locations, and not to mention the couple. I am so incredibly happy for Tim & Sam and feel so blessed to have been a part of their day!!
