EVANGELINE {newborn session} // Louisville family photography

So I was so afraid I wouldn’t get this post up this week.  Our heat went out, so here I sit in sub zero temperatures with my trusty space heater sort of keeping me warm.  As long as I and my computer don’t catch on fire in the next half hour or so, these should go up online today.  And if we do all burn, Jesse and Heather, I hope you enjoy what you see, cause this will be all you get! HA!  I kid, I kid.

Anyways, I was so excited to get to do Evie’s (pronounced EE-VEE) newborn pictures since I didn’t get as much time with her at the hospital.  And this was the first time I got to hold her as well.  All in all a good day for me 🙂  The day we shot these, it was uber gloomy outside – the perfect kind of day to stay indoors and snuggle a newborn while in sweatpants drinking coffee.   But, since the boys were off school and Jesse home from work, we went through with our session and Heather had to get all dolled up.  Doesn’t she look amazing, folks?  She looked so girly and pink, a perfect shade for a session with her new DAUGHTER.  I felt a lot of pressure to get these pics right.  After all, it is the first girl in the family!! And I realized once I was there and trying to pose the boys with her, that I have NEVER done a newborn shoot with that many siblings!! That’s a lot of little feet to direct.  But the boys performed marvelously and were, as always, incredibly cute and handsome.  What a joy it is to photograph this family!!

Anyways, with the gloom of the outdoors, natural light was at a minimum.  So much so, I would love to come back soon when the sun is shining and do some more in Evie’s room.  Heather did an amazing job decorating her room (and that amazing closet), and the gray skies didn’t do it justice.  I didn’t have much light, so I did what I could with the hopes of going back and doing a few more.

World, meet Evangeline Rose, the most loved and protected girl on this planet!!

They posed so beautifully while I was testing my light – thought it would be a throwaway shot but was pleasantly surprised by how well they all smiled.  Sweet boys…

Oh, Jude, you kill me…

My favorite shot of the session…

Daddy’s little girl…. {How does that sound, Jesse?}
