I first “met” Amanda (Mandie) a few years back when she reached out to me via Facebook to tell me that she was interested in photography and was a fan of my work. So when she got engaged a few years later, she asked me to shoot her wedding! She had told me we were cousins, but I didn’t know how closely we were related until we talked about her wedding day timeline – turns out, we’re 2nd cousins! For those not familiar with branches of family trees, her grandmother and my grandfather were siblings – we share great-grandparents. So there were some familiar faces to me at this wedding. Granted, I hadn’t seen many of them in years, and they only remember me as a child, but still, the family connection is there!! We had an absolute gorgeous day for a wedding, which was extremely good news for Mandie and Kyle because their wedding took place along the Indianapolis Canal. There was no back up plan because it wasn’t going to rain. Period. 🙂 It was a beautiful intimate ceremony, half-officiated by her brother, which made it extra special.
Kyle and Mandie also have a 6 year old son, Noah. Oh my goodness, I could just eat him up. Not only is he a ridiculously cute kid, but he was so good for me. He must be used to his mama taking his picture a lot. So if you wonder why there are 5000 pictures of him in this post, at first glance of him, you’ll see why. What a cutie.
Big congrats to you, Kyle & Mandie! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special event!
They say it takes a village….(is that for raising kids or putting on a wedding dress? :))
This flower girl was just in awe of the bride. I kept watching her just start at Mandie as she was getting her dress on, like a real-life princess was standing right before her. I could only imagine how Emma would have responded as well.
Mandie secretly sewed a flower from her mom’s wedding dress under a ruffle of her dress and surprised her mom with it. It was such a sweet moment, especially seeing how her mom has since sold her wedding dress. What a wonderful “something old.”
It’s not every day I get a son’s first look with his mommy. So sweet!
See? I told you.
The reception was at The Columns, which is in Greenwood, IN. It had a super cool, urban vibe.
Mandie and Kyle needed no direction. They were naturals.
Coloring pages for the kids? Genius.
