Ever since Jen and I had chatted about her wedding, I could not wait for this day to come. Her day was going to be a unique and fun one. Her parents had built a barn on their property where her sister got married, and now it was her turn. So outdoor ceremony, plus a barn, plus the comfort and uniqueness of the home she grew up on – check, check, check. Then, she added that she would be wearing two wedding dresses. For the ceremony, she would be wearing her grandmother’s wedding dress (also done by her sister), with a wardrobe change for the reception. I could not wait to see how all of this unfolded!
Well, October 1st rolls around the forecast was not looking good. What a big bummer for this outdoor wedding!! But, somehow, the skies cleared up and we had sun all day for pictures! We all just couldn’t believe how great the weather was!! We were rolling along for pictures, got everything we wanted, then headed into the ceremony. The skies got gray and it started to sprinkle, then sprinkle a little harder. Poor Jen walked down the aisle in a moderate rainfall (not a downpour, thankfully). Since the rain was coming, the officiant decided to keep the ceremony to the essentials, then get everyone moved inside. So they did the vows, the rings, and were pronounced man and wife. Later, the officiant was so kind to give them their charge during the reception, so they got to finish their ceremony. So the rain was a big bummer, but at the end of the day, they are married and that’s what we were gathered for anyways!
My talented friend, Sarah Mesa, helped me with this wedding. We had fun with all the details Jen & Taylor had, not to mention the glitzy bridesmaid dresses (a first for me!). Jen & Taylor were great to work with and provided many opportunities for us to shoot – especially when you have a dress change mid-way through! Taylor has a daughter, who loved the camera, and the camera loved her. Ugh, those curls!!
There’s so much more I could say, but I’ll just let the pictures do the talking….Enjoy!!
(HUGE thanks to Sarah Mesa for rockin’ this wedding with me!!)
SUN! SUN!
Seriously though, this girl. I could have photographed her all day. And Jen had her dressed to the nines!!
Something funny was said. They could not hold it together. Enough said 🙂
Her grandmother did not know she would be wearing the dress, so she did a first look with her. What a special moment for both of them.
The dress is embroidered with all the wedding dates of her grandparents, parents, sister, and Jen & Taylor’s
The rain may have put a damper on the ceremony, but not on their spirits. They are MARRIED and who can’t be happy about that??
What a kind thing to continue their ceremony into the reception…
Vendor List coming soon….
